Day to day organisation
Daily supervision is done by a multidisciplinary team.In addition to medical and orthopedagogical support, our team includes childcare workers, educators, a nurse, two speech therapists, and two physiotherapists. Screened volunteers and interns further strengthen the team.
Our private physiotherapists can treat children during daycare hours upon prescription. For children with additional care needs, their needs are assessed, and a tailored development program is provided. Goals are discussed in consultation and reviewed at regular intervals.
For children (from 2.5 years old) who cannot attend school due to care needs, teacher Lieve provides adapted education a few hours per week.
The Villa
The spacious and light-filled villa was recently refreshed with a fresh coat of paint. With colorful accents and a warm family atmosphere, it has been transformed into a cheerful daycare center.
We have children's beds (both indoor and outdoor), high chairs, a sensory room with a water column and waterbed. The toilet and care facilities are adapted for young children and individuals with additional care needs. These also comply with government safety regulations.

A Day at Villa Clementina
Daycare is available from 7:15 AM to 6:15 PM.
In the entrance hall, there is space to hang up jackets, and each child has their own coat hook. In the same hallway, strollers, wheelchairs, or baby carriers can be stored. In the morning, parents discuss with the caregiver how the previous day, evening, night, and morning went and if there are any special considerations. Each child has their own box with their symbol, containing their care items. This box remains in the care area throughout the day and is handed to parents at pickup.
Each day, an activity is planned: crafts, puppet theater, gymnastics, visiting the horses, a light atelier, music sessions with Master Wim on the guitar, and much more. We also try to play outside and go for walks as often as possible.
For some children, physiotherapy or speech therapy sessions are scheduled, while others work individually or in small groups with the teacher. Our speech therapists offer SMOG (Speaking with Supporting Gestures) during therapy sessions, which is continued by our colleagues in the living groups. By integrating SMOG gestures into daily life, all children learn to use these gestures.
Nap times are always discussed with parents individually. Each child has their own bed.
From 11:00 AM, warm meals are provided, lovingly prepared by our wonderful volunteers. The children can see how their meals are made, as our play area overlooks the kitchen. The weekly menu is shared with parents.
After lunch, most children take a nap. We have sleeping areas with video and audio monitoring. The youngest children (or those with medical needs) can nap in the living area under close supervision. After nap time, there is plenty of time for play, reading, or outdoor activities. We aim to play and walk outside as often as possible.
Around 3:00 PM, it's snack time! Our dedicated volunteers prepare fruit puree or sliced fruit with love. In close consultation with parents, we determine what is best for each child—whether they eat fruit puree or small fruit pieces. Sandwiches with toppings are also available. Some children eat at different times, such as those who require tube feeding or bottle feeding. We maintain close communication with parents, and if needed, our speech therapist can assist with feeding support.
At pickup, caregivers discuss how the child's day went, and parents receive an electronic daily report.
Our daycare day ends at 6:15 PM. Then, we tidy up and prepare everything to welcome you again the next day!
